Its considered the beginning of the end of Apartheid, which technically didn't end until Nelson Mandela was elected... which was 1994 - which means South Africa was under colonial and apartheid rule for about 350 years... Thanks for reading, thanks for being conscious and awake (woke with a PhD)
This is Black History that is current and relevant to human struggle in 2025. Malcolm said, “… when you see that you’ve got problems, all you have to do is examine the historic method used all over the world by others who have problems similar to yours. And once you see how they got theirs straight, then you know how you can get yours straight.”
I actually attended a talk where the speaker did compare/contrast of the Soweto Uprising to the Black Lives Matter Movement, and then compare/contrasted both to the Arab Spring, and you are so correct, so little has changed! Thank you for the continued encouragement!!!
Hi Val, how are you? Thank you for reading, and no, I am not South African but I recall the event, I was a kid (11) and it was widely reported and broadcast. Thank you again for reading and commenting!
